I believe this is the main question for casual players who are not very familiar with hosting platforms, but don't worry! We will help you.
This tutorial will be separated into 2 parts, how to install automatically and manually.
We ask that you READ CAREFULLY and follow all the steps as described, if you are not successful, do not hesitate to contact us by clicking here
Automatic form
Access your LuraHosting management panel and click on " Web FTP " and clean all existing files
NOTICE: It is important that your server is completely clean so that the installation does not encounter any duplicate file issues
Navigate to " Modpacks "
Choose the platform you want to install your modpack on
Select your modpack and click the install icon
After clicking to install, wait until the wheel stops loading, it is IMPORTANT that you DO NOT close the page in the process, when finished, a green message will appear
That's it, your modpack has been successfully installed!
Just go to the "Console" tab and start the server
Manual form
Search for the server-pack version of the desired modpack, for example, I will search for the modpack "All the Mods 6"
Go to the CurseForge website (as an example) and look for the " Server pack " download
Next, download the server-pack. In this example, I'm downloading the latest version of the modpack, but you can install whichever version you prefer.
After downloading, extract the .zip file so you can upload the files to the server (We recommend creating a folder on your desktop for better file organization)
Connect via FTP so we can upload the modpack to the hosting.
If you didn't know how to connect via FTP, click here to see our tutorial
Drag the extracted files into the hosting
WARNING: It is important that there are no files on your FTP when uploading your modpack files, make sure to delete all files before starting the upload
Please wait for the submission process (This may take a while!)
After the upload process is complete and all files are already on the hosting, in some server-packs, it is necessary to install forge manually.
"Ah, but how do I know if I need to install Forge manually or not?"
Just try starting the server if you encounter an error similar to this:
It will be necessary to manually install forge, if no error appears and the server starts normally, the tutorial is complete, if there is an error, let's continue!
To identify the version you should install, server-packs have a file with an extension ending in .sh or .bat, right-click on it and go to "Edit"
Analyzing the file, we marked 2 important lines, the one that informs the forge version and the forge subversion
Now that we have the version of forge that we need to install, let's go to the forge website and download that version.
Download and open the installer
Select the " Install server " option and the folder of your choice (We recommend creating a clean folder)
After downloading, go back to FTP to upload the files that were generated by the Forge installer.
After uploading, the construction of the files should look similar to this:
Since I'm using a modpack from version 1.16.5, I'll have to perform an additional configuration, however, if you're using a modpack from version 1.17.XX or higher, the tutorial is finished for you, just try to start the server normally, if you're not successful, click here to talk to support
ADDITIONAL STEP: ONLY FOR VERSIONS LOWER THAN 1.17.XX
Go to the " Startup " tab in the control panel and look for " SERVER JAR FILE "
Change the line according to the forge version installed on the FTP in the previous step
In my case, the jar is called " forge-1.16.5-36.2.39.jar "
All set! Now just start and enjoy your LuraHosting server :)
